After a few years of not being on the music scene, Alliance member, Marlon 'Bling Dawg' Williams, is now making a comeback and asserts that he's here to stay.
Bling Dawg, formerly known as Ricky Rudie, began his professional career in 1994 and has had songs such as Say My Name, Kiss My Baby Good Morning, Phone Call, Exercise, Shotta Ting and Circumstances.
The break, he said, was a much needed one, as at the time, it was the best choice for him, his family and his career. "I took a break from the business for various reasons such as my child and to enhance my career. A child is something that you have to plan for and I was busy doing that. I took time to do some research and read some more books and stuff, because you can never know too much. It's still a learning process from Bling Dawg buss until now. Now I'm fully focused on the music," said Bling.
He is so far thrilled with the way things have been going for his career since the comeback as he said, "Right now it looking great. Mi just voice on the Turn It Up rhythm for Dave Kelly and that's a joy for mi because from mi a likkle youth mi waan voice fi dem man deh."
"Bling Dawg is back on a next levelish!" he exclaimed.
He, however, noted that he is in no rush to return to the top.
"It takes time and practice to perfect your craft. Nuff man doan know the art of deejaying, dem just a hide behind autotune. Bling Dawg nuh follow nobody enuh. Mi nuh have to hear a man seh something fi me decide fi mek a song about it. Mi nah drop the standard of my lyrical dexterity."
Bling Dawg has a two-month-old daughter, Zoey, who is one of his main motivators.
"A mi heartstring that," he said.
Recent songs from him include, Our Name on the Saudi Arabia rhythm, God Mi Seh for Madhouse Records, Nuh Stab Mi In Mi Back on the Tan Bad rhythm and Next Level on Baby G's Badda Dan rhythm among others
