Head of the failed investment scheme Cash Plus Carlos Hill was offered bail in the sum of $15 m when he appeared in the Home Circuit Court this morning (November 16).
The case against Mr. Hill is being heard in Circuit Court, as he is being tried on the greater charge of fraudulently inducing persons to invest in Cash Plus.
Mr. Hill, his brother Bertram and accountant Peter Wilson are facing fraud charges in the Corporate Area R-M Court.
Mr. Hills co-accused are not charged in the case in the Home Circuit Court.
When the accused appeared in the RM Court, the prosecution entered a voluntary bill to have the case against Mr. Hill go to the Circuit Court.
When Mr. Hill appeared in the Home Circuit Court this morning, he was offered bail regarding this latest charge.
He was on bail in connection with the fraud charges. Carlos Hill is to return to court on January 10.
The prosecution has indicated that it is ready to proceed with the trial in the Home Circuit Court. The case was put off as Hill has not yet settled his legal representation.
In the meantime, the fraud case which will be heard in the Resident Magistrates Courthas been put off indefinitely, as it will await the outcome of the case in the Home Circuit Court
