Investigators from the St Andrew Central police are probing the circumstances under which a 35-year-old man died after trying to strike an 'oral' deal with an exotic dancer early Saturday morning.
The man has been identified as Richard Oneil of Eric Avenue, Kingston 20.
According to police reports, about 5:30 a.m., Oneil and the woman were on Ripon Road, St Andrew, conducting a business transaction which took a turn for the worse.
It was reported that a fracas developed between the two during which a machete and a knife were brought into play.
The police say information they have received suggests that Oniel used a machete to inflict a number of wounds to the woman's body. He was subsequently stabbed with a pair of scissors and was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he died.
An investigator told THE STAR that one of the theories been probed suggests that Oneil was trying to solicit sex from the exotic dancer but the deal turned sour when Oniel requested a longer period of oral sex.
"We cannot say this is exactly how it went, but it is something we heard and are looking into. The two were conducting business, but apparently the money could not cover the service requested," the source from the Cross Roads police said.
When contacted, a security guard from a popular exotic club on Ripon Road made a similar claim.
The man, who asked for anonymity, said though he had not witnessed the incident, converstions he has heard suggests that the two were seen enjoying a drink with each other just minutes before having the altercation.
"Me neva see it still, but people weh did see it seh dem did all a have drink outside before dem kick off. People seh di man gi di girl a money and ask fi a ting but di girl neva deh pon dat fi dah money deh at least, and a so dem kick off," he explained.
The exotic dancer was subsequently taken into custody and may be charged, pending further investigations.
