The Bog Walk police in St Catherine are searching for two gunmen who robbed a house belonging to Commerce Minister Karl Samuda yesterday.
Reports are that about midday, the men went to the house which is located along the Riversdale main road in St Catherine.
The men, both of whom were armed, are said to have held up the minister's helper and his sister-in-law. They are also reported to have roughed up one of the women and made several harsh remarks.
Reports are that the men also forced a workman on the property to use a welding torch to cut open a safety deposit box.
After entry was gained, they stole a 12-gauge shotgun, along with several boxes of cartridges.
THE STAR learnt that the minister has lived at the house for several years but was not there when the gunmen struck.
Investigations are being conducted by the St Catherine North police.
