A 14-year-old boy is to appear in the Montego Bay Family Court on Thursday after he was reportedly held with a home-made firearm in Rose Heights, St James on Sunday.
Police told THE STAR that the teen has been charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. Information reaching THE STAR is that about 7 a.m., a team of police was on an operation in the area. The lawmen went to a premises in Rose Heights where the youth was seen.
Police said he was accosted and searched and a home-made firearm with one .45 cartridge was found in his possession and taken from him. He was was charged by the Mount Salem police, who are investigating.
