Singjay Serani was in the island recently, shooting a video with rapper Scantana and popular Japanese singer Satomi.

The three shot the video for the song Hey Ya at the Sterling Sound Stage on Red Hills Road on Tuesday.

The song is the lead single on Scantana's upcoming album The Best Supporting Acts. The song was produced by Scantana and local music legends Sly and Robbie. When THE STAR spoke to Scantana he explained that the single will officially be released in the United States at the end of July.

The video was directed by Bonz as Scantana explained, "the concept is basically the way to call to a female. I'm the hardcore street thug type and Serani is the cool, poised type, and he's telling me how to approach a girl."

According to Serani the song is about 'swagga' and he was approached by Scantana to be a part of the song.

As for the singjay, he recently completed a short tour in the United States with Tanya Stephens.

"I've been busy touring and recording, promoting and preparing myself for my European and Canadian tour. I also have a new single coming out soon for DASECA called Slumber Party," Serani said.
