On Sunday, Daseca's first lady Raine Seville and Wasp shot the video for their lyrically conscious single entitled Nutten Nah Gwaan. The video was shot at four different locations across the Corporate Area: Park Lane off Red Hills Road; UWI, Mona; DASECA studio as well as a house in Upper St Andrew.
Raine played the uptown rich girl whose family was devastatingly hit by the recession; Wasp was the poor ghetto boy who struggled to get by daily. According to Seville, "I'm very happy about the video because I think it should bring out the point that we are trying to bring out in the song, which is that everybody reaches some point in their lives when Nutten nah gwaan fi dem. It shows both sides of the story, so everyone should be able to relate."
Styled by Georgette Smith, the video was directed by Janelle Dyer, formerly of Scorpio 21. In the words of Dyer, "Quite a number of these uplifting songs are out now, and I didn't want the typical video to be showing poverty. As a matter of fact, I didn't want them to be seen together at all. I just wanted to show the hardships of poverty in both worlds. So, basically, it was a day in the life of each; a rich girl and a poor boy from the inner city." She added that people can expect something different because, "although it is a collab, not a single scene was shot with both of them together."
Cameos will also be made by Tami Chyn,Wayne Marshall, D'Angel and Zj Liquid.
