THE St Andrew South police today seized an additional 10 motorcycles in Half-Way-Tree and surrounding areas as part of a drive to cripple the movement of criminal elements in and around the city.
Derrick 'Cowboy' Knight, head of the police division, said the operation has been ongoing since a curfew was imposed over sections of Kingston recently, including the seizure of 20 motorcycles yesterday.
"Police are continuing their operations which started recently. The aim of this is to stop the movement of criminals from Tivoli Gardens and other areas," said Knight.
Police said that since the three-day stand-off between police and gunmen loyal to Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, they have been getting information that men who had fled from the community were using motorbikes to travel around sections of the city and also to commit other crimes.
"This is something we will continue for as long as the curfew is in place," said Knight.
