CHIEF Justice Zalia McCalla a today rejected an application by attorneys representing wanted fugitive Christopher 'Dudus' Coke who sought to have the court nullify an arrest warrant and order to start extradition proceedings against him.
Coke is wanted on gun and gun running charges in the United States. The signing of the arrest warrant sparked civil unrest and saw gunmen attacking the security forces and police stations.
His lawyers Arnold Foote and Carl Beswick were seeking a Judicial Review of the decision by the justice minister who gave the authority to proceed with extradition proceedings against him.
Coke has been on the run since security forces launched an offensive on his former stronghold of Tivoli Gardens in West Kingston on May 23.
If he is extradited and found guilty in a United States court, Coke could be be given a sentence of 45 years to life and his assets can be seized.
