OCHI RIOS, St Ann - In their pursuit of criminal suspects islandwide, police here have picked up four men from West Kingston and three from addresses elsewhere.
The men were picked up during two special operations conducted by the St Ann police in the Moneague and Ocho Rios areas of the parish yesterday morning and last weekend.
The three other men from outside West Kingston are from St Mary, St Ann and Clarendon.
The men, who are now in police lock ups in the parish are being processed. However, police admitted that they had no information on the men from West Kingston.
"The men from west Kingston, we have absolutely no information on them; we have requested certain information from the police there, when we get that we will know if they are wanted."
Police are appealing to residents to remain watchful for strange persons in their communities.
"Anybody who you see in your community and you are not sure who these people are, call the police."
Security forces previously issued lists of suspected gang members asking them to surrender at police stations.
They are also on the hunt for gunmen who escaped during the assault on Tivoli Gardens last month. 73 civilians and three members of the security forces were killed in that operations.
West Kingston and areas of downtown remain under a State of Emergency
