With the popularity of Vybz Kartel's Clarks featuring Popcaan and Gaza Slim increasing, a number of counteractions have hit the market.

One such counteraction is a Macka Diamond and Captain Barkey collaboration called Drawz. In the song, which mimics Kartel's song, she stresses the importance of wearing clean undergarments.

striking a balance

When contacted, Macka Diamond said the song is not necessarily a counteraction but her way of striking a balance.

"It's not counteracting, just balancing. Mi just balance it back for the girls. If I can sing a song for the women, I always feel like that is always a good opportunity," said the artiste, who will be heading to Canada this weekend. She also has shows in Florida the following weekend before jetting off to a European tour in the summer.

She also noted that this is not her first counteraction of a Vybz Kartel song, as counteracted his song Tek with her Tek Con.

a video

Meanwhile, Macka Diamond also has new songs like Caan Talk To Mi that she plans to shoot a video for soon, Millionaire, Pretty Gal and Hot Like We.

But she is not the only artiste to do a song of that nature, as Ryno D Stinga, formerly Blak Ryno, has also done a track called Style.

In the song, which was released on the weekend, Ryno says, "Winter pass, summer a come fast/ Weh dem a run go inna jeans and Clarks/ Watch mi inna mi Nike and mi new polo shorts and kerchief tie round mi neck."

However, Ryno said his song is not a counteraction. "No, mi just always a rock mi polo and Nike. So, mi just feel like fi talk bout it," the former Portmore Empire member told THE STAR.

short a funds

Meanwhile, Montego Bay-based Eppie Rebel and Dannel have recorded Kickers Ova Clarks. Before boasting that a pair of Kickers costs $25,000, they say, "Kartel a seh Clarks/ It look like Gaza short a funds/ A weh yuh get da new Kickers deh Eppie/ Kickers mad but Clarks nuh ready."

There is also Speeda's Sneakers. In that song, he says, "yuh mussi mad/ How mi fi dash weh mi sneakers/ After mi nuh preachers reapers creepers/ Send the message to di teacha."

In addition, there are other counteraction songs like Tattwu's Sneakers Over Clarks, Habba G's Nike Air and Point Blankk's Crep.
