STEER TOWN, St Ann Six people were shot, one fatally, by gunmen who invaded the Steer Town community in St Ann, this morning.

The dead man has been identified as Brian Johnson, while injured are three women and two men, all of Steer Town.

The five injured persons have since been admitted to hospital in serious but stable condition.

According to the police, at about 12:30 am, five gunmen went to the house where Johnson, another man and a woman were sitting on a verandah and shot at them.

Investigators say the gunmen then walked through the community and started shooting at several other houses, injuring three other persons.

The injured persons were taken to the St Anns Bay hospital where Johnson was pronounced dead and the others admitted.

The St Anns Bay Police who are investigating are asking anyone with information to contact them at 972-2209, Crime Stop at 311, Kingfish at 811, police emergency numbers or the nearest police station.
