Officials at Egypt's Music Union have banned the gay British singer, Elton John, from performing in the MiddleEast.
John was banned from performing at an upcoming show, after he made controversial comments about JesusChrist in a recent magazinearticle.
In an interview, which was published in America in February, Elton suggested that Jesus was a "super-intelligentgayman" and then took aim at the MiddleEast, stating, "Try being a gay woman in the Middle East, you're as good as dead."
The singer/songwriter was scheduled to perform in Egypt on May18
