Golding sends condolences to Nigerians after president’s death

The body of Nigeria's late President Umaru Yar'Adua is brought to a plane to be transported for burial in his home state of Katsina, at the airport in Abuja, Nigeria, today.

PRIME Minister Bruce Golding has sent condolences to the people of Nigeria over the death of their President Umaru Yar'Adua, who passed away yesterday at the age of 58.

Golding said YarAdua will be remembered for his work to promote peace and stability in Africa through his support of Nigerian peacekeeping efforts.

We join the people of Nigeria in mourning the great loss of their leader who had been ailing for several months. It is our hope that his work to ensure peace and prosperity in the region will be continued,"Golding said.
