Lawmen attached to the Portmore Police Station and a joint police/military team on Sunday seized a 357 Magnum loaded with six cartridges, and 50 .38 cartridges in separate incidents in Kingston and St Catherine. One man was arrested in the second incident.
Reports are that about 11 a.m., a team of officers from the Portmore Police Station observed three men on premises on Anglin Avenue. The men were acting in a suspicious manner. The officers accosted the men but they ran into nearby bushes leaving the gun behind. The weapon was confiscated.
Approximately four hours later, the joint police/military team was in the Seaview Gardens community when they accosted a 27-year-old man. He was searched and 50 .38 cartridges found in a bag he was carrying. He was subsequently arrested.
