Former convict Sylvester Jiles has been sentenced to be an actual convict again, after being jailed for 15 years for trying to break into the jail he was previously jailed in.
A judged sentenced the 25-year-old on Monday, after he was convicted in January of trespassing on jail property and resisting an officer for trying to break into the Brevard County jail in Florida.
Authorities say Jiles tried to climb a 12-foot fence at the Brevard County Detention Center in August.
He had shown up at the jail three days after being released from it asking to be let back in to the jail where he had serving time for manslaughter, saying he feared retaliation from his victim's family.
When prison officials told him they couldn't take him in, and advised him to file a police report, he took more direct action and clambered over a fence to break into the jail. He was attempting to scale a second fence, topped with razor-sharp wire, when he fell and suffered severe cuts.
He was apprehended and taken to hospital for his injuries.
