Narcotics police nabbed a wanted man and several other people, including a woman, during an early morning raid in Norwich, Portland, yesterday.
The man, who will face a series of identification parades, was wanted in connection with several crimes committed in Kingston and St Andrew, ranging from armed robbery to murder.
Reports are that shortly after 2 a.m., the police team went to a house in the community and found the wanted man and a female companion. Police said the woman will be charged with harbouring a fugitive.
Five other male suspects, being sought in connection with other crimes, were arrested during the early morning raid, which lasted for more than four hours..
The police also raided several houses in Fairy Hill also in the parish but no arrests were made.
Just last week, two men believed to be active players in the infamous drugs-for-guns-trade between Jamaica and Haiti, were taken into custody by the Portland police.
Police are now keeping a close watch on several beaches in the parish including Mother Beck Beach, and Shan Shy Beach, where some fishermen are suspected to be involved in the trade
