An Old Harbour woman accused of being unfaithful by her companion was yesterday given a sound beating by the irate man.

The 26-year-old had to seek medical assistance for the injuries which were inflicted with the use of a thick leatherbelt.

Reports from the police are that about 3 p.m. the police were called to the Burke Road area of Old Harbour. When they arrived, the complainant who has a child for the suspect, showed the police weal and bruises all over her body.

" The man said the young lady is not being faithful to him. Therefore, he had to discipline her with his belt," a policeman alleged when contacted by THE WEEKEND STAR.

The police said that they will be pursuing the alleged beater to charge him for injuries inflicted on the female.
