Brite Lite Funeral Home owner Tommy Thompson is back again with another showdown set for June, as he plans to take clashes to another level for The Unfinished Business.
Having created a stir with his Settlement on February 13 in St Thomas, which featured the comical clash between Mr G and L.A. Lewis, Merciless versus Gabriel and Lisa Hyper against Queen Paula, Tommy Thompson is now looking to make his show even better.
Thompson says he is looking to return to the stage-show business on June 12 at the Jamalco Sports Complex in Clarendon for The Unfinished Business.
want more
He told THE WEEKEND STAR, "We got a lot of good reviews from the last one (show), we made an impact, getting calls even from people overseas who saw the clashes on YouTube and want more. Based on the fact that a lot of people didn't get to come to the Settlement because of rain in St Thomas and Kingston, we want to do Unfinished Business."
According to Thompson, there is a market for this type of stage show and unlike last time where the support from sponsors was slow in coming, this time around he says he has been getting good responses from a number of interested sponsors. "What I liked about the Settlement was that there was no animosity, people warred onstage and back stage was laughing and talking, it was peaceful," he said.
At the Settlement, while the crowd was small partially due to the rainfall that went until the early hours of the morning, there were some memorable clashes such as the lyrical 'killing' of veteran Merciless by Gabriel, Lisa Hyper by Queen Paula and L.A. Lewis who was laid to rest by Mr G. Since the Settlement however, both Merciless and L.A. Lewis have been clamouring for a rematch.
Thompson said, "Right now we're in the process of making some calls but Merciless is still on, he needs to get back at Gabriel. Lisa Hyper might be back on the show and Face also. Despite what happened last time, she wants to be on the second show." Also on the show, Thompson is hoping to book Aidonia and Blak Ryno, but still maintain the party vibe in-between the clashes.
He elaborated, "We want to bring back Goofy and LA, they are both saying they want to do it, Goofy wants to take LA out in front of a larger crowd once and for all. While LA has been putting out songs aimed at Goofy. I told LA already that this time if he loses, he has to go in the casket and take pictures and he agreed to that. I'm putting them back onstage, so who dies, dies permanently."
