Philpott Martin, the 26-year-old college student accused of hacking into Digicel's mainframe and stealing approximately $10 million worth of call credit, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Martin is facing charges of simple larceny.
The court was, however, informed that documents relating to the case were still outstanding and a new mention date was set.
The allegations are that Martin was employed to Airtime Limited in Kingston and was assigned a user name to access the network. It is alleged that he accessed Digicel's system and transferred the credit. The court was told that further investigations are ongoing and the figure involved could be increased.
Martin, who is now on bail, was told to return to court on March 29. His bail was extended.
