With this year marking the 8th annual staging, organizers of the Best Dressed sponsored 'Fun In The Son' gospel concert had its official launch on Friday night at Church on the Rock, Kingston, where it was disclosed that four-time Grammy Award winner Kirk Franklin would be the international headliner for the March 20th concert.
Kirk Franklin who is recognized worldwide as a prolific minister of worship, comes highly favoured with over a decade of music to his credit including chart topping singles like Lean On Me, released back in 1998, Revolution, in 1999, Looking For You, in 2005 and his most recent smash hit Declaration / This Is It, released in 2008.
As Tommy Cowan CEO of Glory Music and Christopher Levy president and CEO of Jamaica Broilers spoke to the specially invited guests at the launch, their enthusiasm and anticipation of the event's local outreach was clear.
According to Mr. Levy"it's about changing lives, transformation, and the winning of lives for Jesus Christ.'
Adding, "I believe this year will be different from every other year of Best Dressed Fun in the Son."
Tommy Cowan spoke on God's goodness stating "where there is vision God gives provision." He also told Jamaica Broilers smilingly, "Keep putting all your eggs in God's basket and count your chickens before they hatch."
Since the inception of Best Dressed 'Fun In The Son', the festival has had over 1800 persons who gave their lives to Jesus at the events.
So far this year, the sponsors for Best Dressed Fun in the Son are: The Best Dressed Chicken, Glory Music, RJR Communications Group, Knightsman Ltd, Grizzly's Entertainment Ltd, The Gleaner Company Ltd, Wisynco Group Ltd, and Singer Jamaica Ltd.
The 2010 Best Dressed Fun in the Son is scheduled to take place on the Jamaica College grounds, March 20, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. The event will feature a host of gospel-recording artistes including Carlene Davis, Chevelle Franklin, DJ Nicholas and Omari to name a few while other attractions will include a Kids' Village; the Son Village which includes a Food Court and much more.
