KATHERINE Mayfair appears to be so desperate for a snog after getting ditched by Mike Delfino that she hooks up with a female stripper.

The Wisteria Lane favourite, played by Dana Delany, snogs her blonde pal Robin (Julie Benz) in an upcoming scene in the show.

It follows a highly-anticipated smacker between Dana's fellow characters Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) and Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) in the previous series.

But Dexter star Julie says there is a reason behind the kiss.

She explained: "This kiss comes out of a funny moment where we're trying to ditch some guys."

The smooch makes Katherine question her sexuality.

Dana added: "I asked, 'Am I becoming a man?' And [creator] Marc Cherry said, 'Close'. For a woman in her fifties to make this announcement to her community is huge. I hope it sticks."
