Cassava Piece tense after murder

A daring mid-afternoon murder yesterday has left sections of the volatile community of Cassava Piece in St Andrew tense.

The dead man has been identified as Dwight Pryce, also called Badda of Glen Drive, in the community.

Police say about 1:00 pm, Pryce was standing on a pathway when two men approached, brandished handguns and shot him repeatedly.

He died on the spot.

In recent weeks sections of Cassava Piece, which runs off Mannings Hill Road and is popularly called the Gully Side, have been experiencing an upsurge in gun violence and police report that rivals from the community are at loggerheads.
