Girl shot in chest for refusing Boy's adances...

ATLANTA -- A teenage girl was shot in the chest after being approached by a group of boys and refusing their advances, Fulton County police said.

 

It happened at about 6 p.m. Saturday near the 4500 block of Washington Road.

 

Police said the girl was walking with another teenage girl when they were approached.

 

Police told Channel 2 Action News reporter Darren Lyn that one of the boys opened fire after being turned down.

 

Lyn spoke with one resident who couldn't believe the circumstances surrounding the incident.

 

"Why can't you just take no for no ... it's more fish in the sea," the resident said.

 

The victim has since been released from Grady Hospital, Police Corporal Kay Lester said.

 

Her name has not been released because she is a juvenile.

 

Police said no arrests have been made.
