A man accused of having sex with his 15-year-old son on two occasions, appeared before Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey yesterday.

The accused, who is 54, made an appearance in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court to answer the charges of buggery and indecent assault.

The allegations are that the accused and his son shared a room at their home, while the boy's mother lived elsewhere. It is alleged that sometime in 2004, when the complainant was only 11, the accused man had anal sex with him. The complainant, however, told no one about the incident.

In October 2009, it is alleged that the accused again had sex with the complainant and placed his penis between the complainant's legs. The complainant, it is alleged, ran away from home and checked himself into a boys' home in a rural parish, where he reportedly related his ordeal to a Child Care Officer. The police were called in and the accused was arrested and charged.

When the matter was mentioned in court yesterday, the accused was granted $80,000 bail but was sternly warned to stay away from the complainant. He was told not to be within 100 feet of the complainant, communicate with him or to visit any place that the child is known to frequent.
