Popular deejays Mavado and Vybz Kartel took hundreds of fans for a trip down memory lane on Sunday night, reminding them of a time when there were no Gully-Gaza issues.

The two performed together in a gesture of unity at the annual West Kingston Jamboree stage show in Tivoli Gardens, Kingston.

When Mavado was called to the stage by Alliance boss Bounty Killer, he soon began hinting at the anticipated meeting with himself and Kartel after unleashing songs like Fall Rain Fall and Every Situation.

"Unnu waa si history?" Mavado asked a few times while urging that the path to the stage be cleared.

Kartel's entrance would then send the crowd into a frenzy and make for the onstage meeting of the two, who were all smiles as they unleashed tune after tune to the delight of the frantic crowd which in return gave them 'forward' after 'forward'.

When Mavado sang the chorus to Happiest Days after Kartel did the first verse, fans were reminded that the two were once friends.

Simultaneous shouts of "Gully" and "Gaza" could be heard echoing from a number of fans who jumped repeatedly to show their approval of the two deejays who shared the stage.

"Yu naw sing my tune? A which tune a my tune,?" Mavado asked Kartel to which the Portmore Empire boss replied by singing, "... Luv dem tender touch dem ..."

While addressing the audience, Vybz Kartel claimed that the feud between himself and Mavado was planned.

"Yu see wah yu a see, a dis wi plan, yu si wi a war, a plan it plan," Kartel said. OMG.gifOMG.gifOMG.gif

The coming together of the two is said to be the ending of the back and forth word-jabbing and conflict between them which has been going on since 2006.

Earlier, the cross, angry and miserable Bounty Killer brought the house down during his performance.

He was in sizzling form and easily shrugged off at least three unwanted rounds of applause to deliver Eagle And Di Hawk to monstrous cheers from the crowd.

Other acts like comedic duo Twin of Twins, I-Octane, I Wayne and female deejay Spice were also excellent and had the crowd going wild with their selection of songs.

All said down there in jamboree was to drift the public a bit from the reality of the seriousness of the war and to fool them in thinking yes there's peace and hopefully to get the public calm.

Here my take now people....everybody have a point in here. But if you know how the underground and the government work its a team effort. So here goes. The violence in Jamaica is a given but recently the government got flacked by overseas observants that violence in schools was getting out of hand. Since almost all the occurrences were dubbed "gaza gully" the government had to step to the plate. Now the government cant do anything about violence because the many years of turned back approach to crime. So only resort is to have the REAL BIG MAN step in. That is where pressy comes in and says alright unuh enjoy unuh self and it done now. So i gonna put unuh up pon stage and u going to call it quits. Them have to go with the design OR ELSE careers get crashed.

If any body in here have experience wid dance and them shows you will know that they are some of the biggest money laudering rackets in Jamaica and hence thats what fuels the artiste pockets. So if the money tree say change course the artiste have to obey. So if this fued rise again. Is not for right now. Because too much is at stake for the country on a whole. Take a look at how much press the motion of this peace is getting. Its all apart of a campaign to indicate that the country can be reformed.

Well probably when their pockets start to dry up again, the Gaza?Gully feud will start again to boost popularity again. I think the issue here is that these artiste underestimate their influence and power and still operate on a basic level, which is to fatten their pockets (survival). They need to enlarge their way of thinking and take personal responsibility and not let the money be their only motivation. "The love of money is the root to ALL evil", and if dem nah have enuff sense fi see dat, then the whole ah Jamaica in trouble, cuz this is just the beginning of the end!!!
