Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has sensationally written off Englands chances of winning the World Cup - even though nine of his squad are battling to win a place in Fabio Capellos plans.

The Manchester United manager declared he cant see past Brazil to triumph for a record sixth time in South Africa next summer and said England do not have enough players with regular Champions League experience to be world champions.

His comments will draw comparison with another Scot, tennis player Andy Murray,
who faced a huge backlash when he joked that he wanted any team to beat England at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
