Four determined gunmen recently sent pedestrians in New Bowens, Clarendon, scampering for cover when they chased and showered a taxi, transporting two men they earlier shot, with bullet.
Information reaching THE STAR is that the saga started just before midday Wednesday, when the injured men, 24 and 45, were shot and injured.
Reports say the men were sitting under a tree in a yard in the community when a car pulled up. Four armed men alighted and fired several shots at the men injuring them.
THE STAR was told that the injured men fled and hopped in a taxi, which sped off with them. This obviously did not go down well with their attackers who hurried into their vehicle, pushed the pedal to the metal and started chasing the taxi while firing shots Bruce Willis style.
The Hayes Police say while the taxi was damaged during the shooting, the driver managed to get the injured men to hospital. They were both admitted in stable condition.
Investigators have not yet established any motives or suspects in the attack. Residents are however, theorising that the incident may be as a result of an internal feud in the area.
One resident said just last week, men got in an argument and shots were fired at the vehicle of one of the arguing parties. The source said that she did not know what the argument was about but word on the street is that Wednesday's shooting was a reprisal.
