Cassava Piece based selector Foota Hype is booked to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday.

The selector, born Oneil Thomas was granted station bail after being in custody since last Thursday.

He was being held at the Constant Spring lock-up in connection with the assault of a man from the community.

Reports reaching THE STAR is that the incident stemmed from a treat that singjay Mavado had held in the community recently.

It is said that Foota, who had been at odds with the singer forsome time now, was not pleased that some members of the community hadattended his rival's event.

The selector allegedly drove to a section of the community in a vehicle with a man allegedly armed with a gun.

The man with the gun is said to have used it to intimidate a man, who was then assaulted.

A report was made to the Constant Spring police and Foota was subsequently held and charged with assault.

When contacted last night, Crime Chief for the St Andrew Northpolice, Deputy Superintendent Altermoth ' Parro' Campbell confirmedthat the selector was booked for court.
