threatened
She issued this warning before ordering Woodhouse to pay $25,000 and giving him a sentence of 12 months' hard labour, suspended for a year, for the assault.
RM Dunbar-Greene told him that if he committed a crime during the 12-month period and is found guilty he will be made to serve the sentence. The complainant thanked the RM and told her that she was threatened by the senior citizen after the matter was reported.
"Mi ronour, 'im threaten fi mek man shoot mi an mi fraid fi 'im."
After a stern warning, the complainant was told that she must not worry.
man's ex-wife
The facts are that in August last year, the complainant, who is a friend of the accused man's ex-wife, went to his house to inform a friend of a funeral arrangement when the accused man came in and saw her on the veranda. He then made an advance to her saying, "Yuh na gi mi di likkle wife?" She is said to have spurned his advances by telling him they were both senior citizens and, moreover, she respected their friendship.
He is said to have grabbed her in her collar and slapped her with the back of his hands, hitting out her false teeth, during which time the ex-wife ran from the yard. Someone came to her rescue and took her to the street. However, Woodhouse was not finished, as he again attacked her on the road and slapped her repeatedly. The matter was subsequently reported to the police and the senior citizen, who is also a returning resident, was charged by the police.
