What's up mediazoneja! A friend recommended this sight to me and I'm really impressed, what a great resource. I lived in St. Elizabeth for almost a year, loved it, love jamaican culture and music... miss it so much :( but this site is helping me keep up. I noticed my status or what ever you call it is a 'leacher'. Yuck! not what I'm trying to be it just took me a while to figure out this sight and see how to work it so hopefully as I start to contribute that will go away!
Big up to all the posters for putting the music links up... I think you all know how nice it is to have this resource to keep up with jamaican music.
Hard to pick my favorites but I have mad respect for Tarrus, Gyptian, Damian and Stephen Marley, Konshens, Busy Signal, Serani, Alaine, Queen Ifrica... I could go on for ever... all time fave has got to be Barrington Levy.
I'm female, 20, originally from cali but just moved down to orlando and I'm working on an entertainment business degree so that hopefully I can wiggly my way into a gig in caribbean music business... wish me luck, I know its gonna be tough. Not sure how it's gonna work out without looking like a groupie.
I would love any thoughts or advice about the business side of reggae/dancehall, and also does anyone know good caribbean spots in florida or orlando area? anyone from St. Bess?
peace <3
