The international athletics Federation will offer more than US$7 million (5 million) in prize-money at the World Championship in August in Berlin.

The top eight finishers in each individual event will get between US$60,000 (42,230) for the winner and US$4,000 (2,815) for the eighth-place competitor.

Prizes for relay events will range from US$80,000 (56,310) to US$4,000 (´2,815) per team.

The IAAF will pay out a total of US$7.3 million (euro5.14 million).

The top six men's and women's marathonfinishers will split an additional bonus of US$142,000 (99,950), with the winners getting an extra US$20,000 (14,080).

In addition, any world record will be worth US$100,000 (70,390).
