B Is For Bob is the title of a compilation album by singer Ziggy Marley. On it, he reworks some of his father's (Bob Marley) most popular songs. It is scheduled to be released on June 23 by Island Records.
The website, Pollstar.com, reports that Ziggy, Bob's oldest son, re-tooled Three Little Birds, Small Axe and Stir It Up by subtracting instruments and adding others to give them a more contemporary feel.
Could You Be Loved, One Love/People Get Ready and Lively Up Yourself are also on B Is For Bob.
"My father's music spans generations and with B is for Bob, we give the youngest their very own Bob Marley record," Ziggy explained.
Bob Marley's children have enhanced several of his songs to reach a younger audience. Chant Down Babylon, a 1999 album, was produced by Stephen Marley, Ziggy's brother. It featured hip-hop acts performing digitally remastered duets with Marley on some of his biggest hit songs.
