Child's body found in tank

The body of two-year-old baby boy, Demino Davis was found afloat in a tank in Madras district, Watt Town, St Ann on Monday.

Police reports are that about 2:30 p.m., the child was with his mother who was at a tank in the community washing.

She reportedly left the child and went to a nearby shop. On her return, she did not see the child and raised an alarm. Members of the community launched a search and found Demino's body floating in the tank.

The police who were alerted took the child to the St Ann's Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His 27-year-old mother has since been taken into custody by the police and is expected to be charged for breaching the Child Care and Protection Act.
