There has been a persistent rumor here in Jamaica that further to their ban on daggering and bleeped songs earlier this year, the Broadcasting commission is now building a list of blacklisted songs that should not be aired on public radio and television. Below is an unconfirmed list of 200 alleged blacklisted songs that has been circulated via Facebook and other websites over the past few days.

Weve highlighted in bold the Jamaican songs on the list, but given that some of the songs arent known to have been banned in the past, Dancehall.Mobi is not convinced that this list is indeed authentic, and in fact it seems more likely that it is a prank / spoof (especially since some of the Jamaican songs on this list offer strong social commentary without the use of expletives and bleeps). Notably there are also some inaccuracies on the list, with songs being credited to the wrong artiste.
