The man arrested in connection with last Friday's abduction and suspected rape of a five-year-old girl in Ocho Rios, St Ann, is to be questioned soon by the police.

Police reports are that last Friday, the child was at the market in the care of relatives. It is alleged that the attacker lured her away. The child was later seen by a taxi operator walking naked on a deserted road. He took her to the police station and she was later taken to hospital where she was examined. The police say though it is suspected that she had been raped, they have yet to receive confirmation from doctors.

The child however had marks of abuse all over her body. She reportedly also had a wound to the forehead.
