Dancehall star Mavado kicked off his UK-European tour in fine style recently at Club Isis in Nottingham, causing pandemonium with the women, who, during his performance, tried dragging him off stage.
The packed club was the first of four shows on the Brighter Days UK tour, with Bristol, Bradford and London closing the UK leg on Sunday night. Alliance stablemate Serani and Bugle are also on the UK tour. The Anger Management Band is the backing band for the London show, with Alliance selector Boom Boom also in the travel party.
On Monday, Mavado will be off to Paris for his first-ever live shows in Europe, which will see the Gully God blaze a trail through France, Holland, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium.
"It's my third time in the UK and every time it gets bigger and better," said Mavado. "I will be performing in many new cities and countries on this tour, which is exciting and I am looking forward to going to Europe to spread my music and represent Jamaica."
As soon as Mavado finishes in Europe he will fly straight into Miami for the Best of the Best Memorial Day Weekend extravaganza, before heading to LA for the UCLA Jazz Festival on Monday, May 25.
