3 Pit Bulls Attack Henry County Boy

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- A Henry County family said they are planning to sue the owners of some pit bulls blamed for attacking their son. The family said they are afraid the dogs may come back to the neighborhood.

 

Jaden Allen, 6, has injuries on both arms, on his back, hip, and neck, after three pit bulls attacked him in his neighborhood last week. A neighbor had just picked him up from school and he was in her driveway when it happened.

 

And I heard him scream out and I looked back and three pit bulls were just ripping him apart, said neighbor Suzette Newman. I got the broom and tried to distract them but they werent paying them any mind."

One of the dogs owners came and got the pit bulls off the child. Jaden was rushed to the hospital with injuries so severe, his parents thought he might have to get skin grafts.

 

I want to see the dogs dead. I want to maybe try to change the laws to restrict these dogs from being owned," said Jaden's father, Kimani Allen.

 

Channel 2 Action News reporter Eric Philips went to the dog owners home but no one came to the door. A Beware of Dog sign was on the gate where the dogs somehow escaped. The dogs were quarantined after the attack.

 

I dont think any parent should have to go through this. You know, to see their son in pain like that and I just don't want it to happen again," said Allen.

 

One of the dogs did not have a recent record of rabies shots. That means Jaden will need to undergo a painful series of shots as a precaution.
