In todays Jamaica Gleaner newspaper, Mel Cooke provides extensive details and quotes from the recent launch of Buju Bantons Rasta Got Soul album. At the launch event, Buju Banton told the story of how he got into the music business - how he was in a mango tree outside a recording studio one day when Shabba Ranks drove up, called him out of the tree and sent him to call fellow deejay Clement Irie; how they took him along with them to a concert at Penwood High off Olympic Way with Shabba saying bring de juvenile. We no kill champion, we raise dem.
