A 38-year-old man who was charged in connection with the murder of the uncle of Jamaican sprint sensation, Asafa Powell, appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The accused man, Robert Pryce, otherwise called 'Sukoo', of Waterloo in Ewarton, St Catherine, is on charges stemming from the 2007 murder of Corey Reid, 31, of the same community.
When the case was called up on Tuesday, two witnesses were not present. As such, Pryce had his bail extended and is booked to return to court on June 24.
Allegations in the case are that on April 27, 2007, at 9:15 p.m., Pryce was selling cigarettes to Reid when an argument developed.
A knife was brought into play and Reid was stabbed in his stomach and later died in the hospital.
The murder weapon is alleged to have been found in Pryce's possession, and he was subsequently arrested and charged.
