The Tax Administration Services Department is reminding property owners that the deadline for paying outstanding taxes is next week Wednesday.

The payments are owed for the 2009 to 2010 period.

Director of Public Relations at the Tax Department, Meris Haughton, said failure to meet the deadline will result in a penalty of 10 percent being added to defaulters balances.

She said the department will be extending its opening hours in anticipation of large crowds.

The tax department provides an option for quarterly payments of property taxes.
