A woman police attached to the Jamaica Constabulary Force's statistics department is today counting her blessings after a nasty traffic accident with a garbage truck on Marcus Garvey Drive in St Andrew yesterday.
Eyewitnesses told this newspaper that the woman police's private car was sent rolling after it was hit from behind by the garbage truck. They say she was driving along the dual carriage way towards Portmore, St Catherine, when she slowed down to negotiate a bump in the road and was hit by the truck. She lost control of the car, which spun over, and had its front section crushed by the truck.
The condition of the policewoman's car had onlookers fearing the worst as the vehicle was transformed into a giant metal ball. THE STAR has since learnt that the woman was taken to the Andrews Memorial Hospital where she is being treated.
