A prisoner who escaped from the Old Harbour police lock-up in St Catherine on February 14 is now back behind bars.

William Lewin, 23, otherwise called Don T of Succaba Pen in Old Harbour, St. Catherine was recaptured during a special operation by the police in Havana Heights in May Pen, Clarendon yesterday.

Lewin was awaiting trial for illegal possession of firearm and shooting with intent at the time of his escape.

The Constabulary Communication Network reports that between 3:30 and 5:00 yesterday morning, a police team carried out an operation at Havana Heights.

During the exercise, a house was searched and Lewin found.

Two women who were found in his company were also taken into custody and will be charged with harbouring a fugitive.
