Ace deejay Spice is of two minds regarding whether to have a big, fairy-tale wedding or a private affair with her long-time boyfriend and fiancé Nicholas Lall.
The deejay recently got engaged to the father of her child on February 7, during his birthday party. She told THE STAR that she was very surprised when he proposed. She exclaimed "Oh my God", over and over, before finally accepting his proposal.
"I do want to get married. My dream wedding has always been a big wedding, riding up on a white horse, but that was before I was famous. So now I have to think about being in the public eye and whether I want to go through with it - a fairy-tale wedding or to have a more private thing."
Spice will, however, have a long time to make up her mind, as she claims that while she might be engaged, she doesn't want to get married any time soon. "He popped the question but we haven't set a date; it's just that I am so busy right now. We're happy and in love, but a marriage is not something I want to just jump into and we haven't even bought a house together or anything."
She continued: "This is not a public marriage. I want to keep it as private as possible."
Spice describes herself as a very committed person who wants to be financially and emotionally stable before taking such a big step.
However, fans will not see the artiste wearing her engagement ring to stage shows or events. She will only wear the symbol of their love in the company of close friends and family.
Raunchy act
Known as one of the raunchiest deejays around, settling down and getting married might affect the artiste's image, but Spice wants to stay as close to her roots as possible. According to her, since the news was leaked to the media about her engagement, she has been getting numerous calls from her male fans.
She said, with a laugh: "Nuff man a call me, seh how mi a go get married on them, but I tell them is an engagement thing, we're not committed yet so yuh still have a chance."
Spice says her fiancé knows how to cope with her career and always has a mature attitude when it comes to the attention she receives from male fans.
Having just shot a video for her song No Matter What People Say, she is also focusing on studio work and being a mother to her son, Nicholas Lall Jr, with whom she tries to spend as much time as possible.
