While dancehall is under immense pressure at home, it seems the rest of the world, well at least America for now, continues to embrace our music - edited or not.

Mavado's video for his (edited) Billboard smash So Special will be a freshman's pick on MTVU the week of of February 16-20.

This is a fan-voting opportunity, the video with the most votes automatically gets added to MTVU rotation the following week, so Jamaicans are being asked to support the music and get voting.

MTVU's show, The Freshman, spotlights emerging artistes on air and online, with the chance for one of the videos to get an automatic add into rotation on the channel the following week. Fans can vote on these videos online, starting the Monday morning of the week in question, and votes will commence at the end of the week on Friday at noon and then tabulated.
