On Valentine's Day, a day set aside for love and lovers, violence claimed the lives of four men in separate incidents across the island.
Thirty-six-year-old Everton 'Bucky' Robinson, a mason of Chisholm Avenue, Kingston 13, was shot dead by gunmen at Hagley Park Road, Kingston 11, on Saturday morning. Police say about 10:15 a.m., Robinson was at a premises on Hagley Park Road when he was approached by two men armed with guns.
The men immediately opened fire hitting him several times. Robinson was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) where he died.
Later that day, Ricardo Green, 31, of Heart Street, Kingston 4, was shot dead by unknown assailants at Hampton Street, Kingston 4. Reports are that about 1:30 p.m., residents heard explosions and saw Green lying on the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. The police were called and he was taken to the KPH where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the Hunts Bay police have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of Clive Blake, 32, of Ricketts Crescent, Kingston 13, at St Joseph Road, Kingston 13, on Saturday afternoon. Police say about 12:30 p.m., Blake was walking along St Joseph Road when he was approached by a group of men armed with guns. The gunmen opened fire hitting him several times. He died on the spot.
And the Olympic Gardens police are investigating the death of Michael 'Nose' Rhoden, 25, of no fixed address. Police say about noon Rhoden was walking along Tower Avenue when he was approached by a man who shot him repeatedly before escaping in a waiting motor car. He was pronounced dead at the KPH.
