A shortage of resident magistrates in St Catherine has led to the postponement of the preliminary inquiry against a police superintendent charged with vehicular manslaughter.
Appearing before the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court Tuesday was Superintendent Yvonne Martin-Daley of the Jamaica Police Academy in Twickenham Park, St Catherine.
She is charged in connection with the death of Constable Mark Needham of the Motorised Patrol Division. He was killed during a crash on the Spanish Town Bypass on his way to work about 7:30 a.m. on July 15 last year.
Defence attorney Anthony Pearson asked for the earliest possible date. The inquiry was rescheduled for March 19.
