Elly Ess' remake of the international hit "Bad Boys" has drawn two of the biggest names in Dancehall and Hip Hop, Diplomat CEO, Jim Jones and Portmore Empire's Vybz Kartel. The song was originally released in 1987 by reggae group, Inner Circle and brought to the world stage by popular TV program, COPS.
The title says it all, but let me break it down anyway. Rude bwoy listen, if dem comin Im dippin, mi nah mek dem ketch mi slippin. These are the words of new Dancehall/Hip Hop sensation, Elly Ess, and it wont be long before were all singing along to this catchy tune. Vybz Kartel adds his usual edge to the song and proves why he has been named Lyricist of the Year, rise like inflation, through any situation. And it is some how refreshing to hear international superstar, Jim Jones, speaking about Clarendon.
Its pretty simple, this collaboration works. Not many artists can sit on a track with di teacha Vybz Kartel and Jim Jones and still manage to shine but Elly Ess does. Elly Ess is definitely one to listen out for in the future and I have a feeling this is definitely not the last well here from this Bad Boy.
