The St James police confirmed yesterday that they are seeking a man known as Larva Buchanan and Gary Buchanan of Lima district in the parish who they believe can assist in a shooting and murder investigation.
Shot dead
This after two men were shot and hospitalised and a third shot dead in Lima on Wednesday night. Police are not accusing Buchanan in any way, but are rather appealing to him to give them some assistance in the matter.
Dead is Agustus Rowe, 30, a taxi driver of Lima. The injured men are 24 and 19 years old.
Police say about 8 p.m., the two men who were injured were among a group playing dominoes when a man approached and inquired who 'dissed' his uncle. The man opened fire, hitting the two and fled.
Minutes later, a gunman believed to be the one from the earlier shooting approached Rowe and another man, who were sitting in front an abandoned shop. Rowe was shot several times but the other man escaped unhurt. Rowe died at hospital.
Police have not established a motive for the shootings. Lima is usually a quiet and peaceful community, but The Star understands that some persons from the area have become involved in the lottery scam.
