A man who reportedly attacked his neighbour over garbage was lucky when she begged for him in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, having an offensive weapon and unlawful wounding is Devon Lee.

The complainant told the court that on the day in question, she put out her garbage as usual. She said the accused operates a shop at his home and complained about the garbage being at his house. He reportedly threw it back in her yard. An argument developed, during which the complainant was hit in the mouth.

When the matter was mentioned however, she told the court that the accused had apologised and she was no longer willing to pursue the matter.
